Maria Gabriela Torres is a Venezuelan documentary editor, producer and director based in New York City. Originally from Caracas, she began her career in journalism before moving to the United States to pursue documentary filmmaking.

As an editor, she has collaborated on Emmy Award-winning, Oscar-nominated, and Sundance-premiering documentaries, bringing a character-driven and emotionally precise approach to nonfiction storytelling. Her recent editing credits include Death by Numbers and The Librarians, which premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival.

Alongside her editing work, Maria Gabriela is currently directing her first feature documentary.
